José Mourinho has his say on Real Madrid’s Yan Diomandé chase | OneFootball

New Real Madrid head coach José Mourinho has given the green light to the club’s pursuit of RB Leipzig sensation Yan Diomandé.

This comes amid the understanding that the Portuguese sees the young winger as the ideal addition to his attacking ranks in Spain’s capital.

The name of starlet Diomandé has of course dominated the headlines at Real Madrid over the last 24 hours. After murmurs began to circulate that Los Blancos had joined the hunt for the in-demand Ivorian, a big-money offer on the part of Florentino Pérez and co. was confirmed.

The proposal in question was knocked back by the brass at the Red Bull Arena, hopeful of bringing in a sum in excess of €100 million for their crown jewel.

If the latest word doing the rounds on Saturday is anything to go by, though, then Real Madrid are unlikely to have been deterred by their opening bid being rebuffed.

As per a report from transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano:

‘José Mourinho has approved Yan Diomande as top target for Real Madrid. Mourinho indicated to Madrid board his need to have “even more speed” and fresh legs up front.’
