Fresh overseas reports continue to link José Mourinho with a post-Benfica move, yet the Benfica camp remains unaffected and the coach is focused on upcoming commitments.

Some foreign outlets have suggested he could depart after the 2026 World Cup to become Portugal head coach, a post currently held by Roberto Martínez. ESPN reports that a wider coaching carousel could follow.

A Bola reports that talk of Mourinho’s future is not entering the Benfica dressing room, which he has kept insulated as he concentrates on the present and near future.

The 63-year-old has one year left on his deal, and clauses on both sides allow for a separation. He has also been linked speculatively with Real Madrid.

After Sunday’s win over Alverca, Mourinho extended his unbeaten run in the Portuguese league to 18 matches, more than a full round of the competition. The Eagles sit third on 49 points.

Benfica chase a second straight victory on Friday 13 February at 18:30, away to Santa Clara at Estádio São Miguel. The match, against a side now led by Petit, is for round 22 of Liga Portugal Betclic.
