Real Madrid head coach José Mourinho is on the verge of losing his final shred of patience with a leading member of the club’s attacking ranks.

That’s according to Marca, who highlight Vinícius Jr. as the player in question.

Wide-man Vinícius is of course fresh off another evening to forget on Sunday. Afforded a starting berth in Real’s derby day showdown with Atlético, the Brazilian struggled to impact proceedings in the final third, looking a shell of his brilliant self.

Upon Dean Huijsen being shown a red card early in the 2nd-half, manager José Mourinho therefore didn’t hesitate to hook Vinícius from the field of play.

This marked just the latest underwhelming showing on the part of the 26-year-old, amid a hit-and-miss start to the new campaign.

And as alluded to above, though his manager has repeatedly spoken out in defence of Vinícius when afforded the chance over recent weeks, even Mourinho’s patience now appears to be wearing thin.

As per a report from Marca:

‘Mourinho’s patience with Vinicius is reaching its limit, and this is evident in his recent decisions. Vini is struggling to get going, and the next thing he could lose is his starting position.’
