A head-turning statistic surrounding the attacking output of Real Madrid trio Vinícius Jr, Kylian Mbappé and Yan Diomandé has come to the fore on Sunday evening.
This of course comes after all three were on the losing side in the season’s first edition of the Madrid Derby.
Real Madrid made the short trip across Spain’s capital earlier today, to lock horns with bitter rivals Atlético. The aforementioned Vinícius Jr and Kylian Mbappé featured from the off in the fixture, as the visitors’ key attacking outlets.
En route to an eventual 2-1 defeat, however, both struggled to impact proceedings in a meaningful way, restricted to half-chances and shots from distance.
Blancos summer signing Yan Diomandé, meanwhile, was introduced off the bench during the 2nd-half in the derby. And despite José Mourinho’s troops having been a man down, the young Ivorian managed to beat out the respective dribbling tallies notched by his attacking partners-in-crime, in just over half an hour of play.
As revealed by statistician Albert Ortega:
‘Yan Diomandé completed the same number of dribbles (4) in 36 minutes and with one player fewer than Mbappé (3) and Vinícius (1) combined in the ENTIRE match.’
