Josip Sutalo left out by Ajax as Benfica move nears | OneFootball

His absence has intensified talk over the Croatia international’s future.

Jonathan Jesus has been cited as a Benfica priority, yet the club keep several dossiers open and Sutalo has again emerged as an option.

Sutalo came through at Dinamo Zagreb and moved to Ajax in the summer of 2023 in a €20.5m transfer. He is under contract until 2028.

The 26-year-old made 31 competitive appearances in 2025/26 and played at the 2026 World Cup for Croatia, who were knocked out by Portugal in the round of 32.
