Over ten prospective buyers have spoken to Sheffield Wednesday's administrators about a potential deal to buy the club.
There are over ten interested parties in buying Sheffield Wednesday as the administrators look to find a new owner for the struggling Championship side.
After years of problems under Dejphon Chansiri, many Wednesday fans were relieved when the club entered administration earlier this month, as it meant the Thai businessman’s time in charge at Hillsborough was over, even if it has almost certainly relegated Henrik Pedersen’s side following the 12-point deduction they received.

However, in the bigger picture, the only focus for the Owls is to get a new owner in place, and they will hope for a relatively swift resolution over the next few months.
The next step is for buyers to make their interest known to the administrators, and it’s no surprise that Wednesday is seen as an attractive option due to the size of the club.
In a fresh development, journalist Rob Staton has provided further information on the level of interest in the Yorkshire outfit, as he revealed there are over ten prospective bidders to have made contact about purchasing the club.
“Contrary to what is being reported elsewhere, understand the administrators at Sheffield Wednesday have spoken to many interested parties. Believe it’s double figures.”
Whilst no specific names have been mentioned in the latest update, Botafogo owner John Textor and fellow US businessman John McEvoy are among those thought to be interested in buying Wednesday.
Even though all connected to Wednesday are delighted to have seen off Chansiri, the reality is that the club being on the market for a lower fee than their true value could attract all sorts of interested parties.
So, it’s pleasing for the club that there is a lot of genuine interest, and it will be down to the administrators to decide which parties are proper candidates that will be able to put up the funds and take the club forward.

Again, this is not something that will just happen in the coming days, but it’s hugely encouraging that discussions have already taken place, and it does offer hope for Wednesday about how they can kick-on in the long-term.
In the short-term, the fans continue to help by buying tickets and merchandise that will help the club operate on a day-to-day basis.
They will be proud of the way the team are playing in such difficult circumstances, and Pedersen’s side will be backed by another big away following when they take on West Brom at The Hawthorns on Saturday.
