There has been some bizarre news this week as a journalist encourages Chelsea fans to watch Romeo Lavia ‘turn his head’.
Yes, you did read that correctly. We have to all watch how Lavia is turning his head when he finally returns to the pitch for Chelsea. I think most people will be watching him go through the game and just hoping he makes it without yet another injury, with the midfield barely featuring at all for Chelsea since he made the big money move from Southampton. So just to see him get through a game will be enough for most of us.
But no, we have to watch how he turns his head due to the Belgian international apparently using some new VR technology. What has the game come to eh!?
Kieran Gill of The Daily Mail writes:
‘When Lavia returns, it will be worth watching him turn his head as he prepares to receive a pass in midfield. While sidelined, Lavia has been fine tuning his decision making in midfield. That was via virtual reality training, with Lavia having invested in a company called Be Your Best – an innovative product used to help players privately improve their ‘scanning’ in games. Wearing a VR headset, it places the player on the pitch from a first-person perspective, recreating realistic scenarios with an AI system responding in real time as you are assessed on how much you scan and the decisions you make as the match unfolds.’
Liam Delap has been the focus of a lot of criticism recently, and an exclusive today has claimed he could move on as soon as the summer.
Geovany Quenda is currently at Cobham doing some rehab and getting used to the surroundings as he prepares for a summer move.
