JSK – USMA: who holds the historical advantage?

JSK – USMA: who dominates the history of their encounters?
For the rescheduled first matchday of Ligue 1, JS Kabylie will host USM Alger this Monday at 5:45 p.m. at the Hocine-Aït-Ahmed stadium. The fixture is already set to be intense, made even more symbolic by the return of Abdelhak Benchikha to an environment he left nearly a year ago following a tense resignation. The stage is set for a showdown where the atmosphere promises to be electric.
Historically, the two clubs have faced off 112 times in all competitions. JSK holds a slight edge with 41 victories compared to 36 wins for USMA, while 35 matches have ended in a draw. This near-perfect balance highlights the deep rivalry between two Algerian football giants, each capable of dominating for extended periods.
Several encounters have gone down in history: JSK’s 4-1 triumph in 1998, USMA’s 3-0 win in 2005, and the spectacular 3-2 in 2014 at Tizi-Ouzou. Every generation has had its defining match, and this new chapter could well become part of collective memory. With a heated context and major sporting stakes, there’s every reason to believe that Monday’s JSK–USMA clash will leave a lasting impression.
