Juan Bernat has joined SD Eibar until the end of the season with an option for a second year. According to Superdeporte, the 32-year-old former Valencia left-back has completed a medical and strengthens the Basque club’s defence.

Bernat is a quick, attack-minded left-back with strong delivery and regular penalty-area entries, traits that underpinned his top-level career.

A Valencia academy graduate, he played 74 competitive games for the first team before moving to Bayern Munich from 2014/15 to 2018/19, making 102 appearances and winning multiple honours.

He then joined Paris Saint-Germain and featured in 114 matches up to the 2024/25 campaign.

Over the past two seasons he had loan spells at Benfica and Villarreal, with Villarreal making the move permanent in January 2025. He later moved to Getafe, his most recent club before Eibar.

Bernat’s haul stands at 17 major trophies, including four Bundesligas and three German Super Cups with Bayern, plus four Ligue 1 titles with PSG.

He has 11 Spain caps with one goal and won the European Under-19 Championship.

His arrival gives Eibar added experience and quality for the decisive stretch of the season.
