Juan Sartori sent a message to Sunderland supporters after joining jubilant scenes with Kyril Louis-Dreyfus as the club won 2-1 at St James’ Park.
Sunderland Echo reports that the co-owners were pitchside before kick-off, taking in the atmosphere before one of the season’s biggest fixtures. They later joined supporters after full-time.
Sunderland came from behind to seal the league double over Newcastle, Brian Brobbey striking late to spark wild celebrations among the 2,000 travelling fans.
After the whistle, Sartori and Louis-Dreyfus were seen on the concourse, interacting with fans and applauding near the away section.
Sunderland are unbeaten in their last 11 league meetings with Newcastle and this was their first league double since 2014-15.
Newcastle remain without a league derby win since 2011 and have not beaten Sunderland at St James’ Park in the league since 2010.
Despite a lengthy injury list, Régis Le Bris’ side found control after the break. Chemsdine Talbi scored at 20 years and 317 days, the youngest Sunderland scorer against Newcastle in the Premier League.
Brobbey’s late strike completed the comeback.
Sartori later posted on social media, hailing the last-minute away win and the team’s heart right to the end.
His message, shared with red and white symbols and a video of his day, echoed the club’s 'Till the End' mantra.
