Jürgen Klopp says he is ready as Germany talks advance | OneFootball

Jürgen Klopp has confirmed talks with the German federation as he moves closer to succeeding Julian Nagelsmann as Germany head coach, and he reaffirmed strong interest in the role on Friday.

«Oui, je peux confirmer les discussions. Les choses ont bougé assez vite, Julian (Nagelsmann) a démissionné. La DFB cherche un successeur, et ils discutent avec moi», he told Magenta Sports.

Two years after leaving Liverpool, the 58-year-old, now the head of football at Red Bull, added: «Je suis prêt. Quand les discussions commencent, votre esprit s'emballe.»

Klopp said it is a matter of «temps» before a full agreement, and he believes the national set-up needs to «changer les choses de fond en comble».

Nagelsmann resigned after Germany’s World Cup exit to Paraguay in the last 32, the tie finishing 1-1 before a 3-4 penalty shootout defeat.
