Borussia Dortmund chief executive Lars Ricken has confirmed Julian Brandt will leave at the end of the season when his contract expires.
Ricken delivered the update after Saturday’s win away to Cologne, a match in which Brandt set up Maximilian Beier. Speaking to Sky, he said talks had led to an agreement that the deal expiring this summer would not be extended.
The attacking midfielder joined Dortmund in 2019 from Bayer Leverkusen and established himself as a key figure.
He has played 298 times for the club, scoring 56 goals.
Brandt won the German Cup in 2021 and reached the 2024 Champions League final, losing 0-2 to Real Madrid. This is his seventh season at Dortmund.
