In a major development, Fabrizio Romano reports that Hansi Flick has already signed his new contract with FC Barcelona earlier today.
Formal steps and announcement of the German tactician’s extension are expected to follow imminently.
Flick’s current deal with Barcelona runs until 2027, and the Catalans have been working on an extension for quite some time now.
The German manager, for his part, was always willing to commit to a new deal but wanted to wait until the La Liga title was secured before moving ahead.

With that objective being achieved over a week ago, things picked up pace, and an agreement was swiftly reached.
As per the terms agreed, Flick’s new contract will run until the summer of 2028 with an option to further extend by another year until 2029.
The former Germany manager has already signed the new contract today, and an official announcement could drop any time now.
Barcelona, led by president-elect Joan Laporta, are very happy with the work that Flick has been doing since replacing Xavi Hernandez.

In his two years at the club, Flick has led Barcelona to two La Liga titles, two Spanish Super Cups, and one Copa del Rey.
At the same time, he has been able to embrace the club’s ethos and principles and build on it, endearing himself to the fans and the administration alike.
As such, the contract extension was a priority, which has now been achieved.
