‘Just Need To Iron Out’ – Club Confident On Leeds United Star Deal | OneFootball

Italian side Torino ‘just need to iron out a few more details’ before they can officially complete the signing of goalkeeper Lucas Perri from Leeds United.

The Whites have been actively looking in the transfer market to address the goalkeeper situation this summer, after the departures of Karl Darlow and Illan Meslier.

They tried to keep experienced shot-stopper Darlow, but he left for Manchester United.

Leeds United are now closing in on signing James Trafford from Manchester City for a deal worth £40m plus add-ons, which will be a club record transfer.

Trafford snubbed Newcastle United to join Manchester City last season, but was sidelined by the club after the arrival of Gianluigi Donnarumma from Paris Saint-Germain.

Now, with the English shot-stopper set to sign for Leeds United, Perri, who has had a deal agreed with Torino but has been stuck at Elland Road will be on the move.

According to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Torino just need to iron out a few more details before the loan with an option to buy goes through.

The Granata have been chasing the 28-year-old goalkeeper’s signature for a long period of time this summer window, and Perri always wanted to join Torino; he rejected approaches from other Serie A sides.

Perri arrived at Leeds United from French club Lyon last season and made 16 appearances in the Premier League, sharing the number 1 spot with Darlow.

The Brazilian shot-stopper played a crucial role in the Whites’ FA Cup run, with Daniel Farke handing him cup action.

Leeds United were interested in signing Parma shot-stopper Zion Suzuki, but with competition increasing for the Japan international, the Whites turned their attention to Trafford.

The 23-year-old goalkeeper is expected to be the long-term number 1 for Leeds United.

All eyes are now when Leeds United officially confirm the arrival of Trafford and the departure of Perri.
