Serie A side Juventus have been pushing for a goalkeeper signing and they have made some progress in a move for Emi Martinez.
Tuttomercatoweb’s Niccolo Ceccarini has reported that they are continuing to push for the Argentine, having spoken to his entourage.
This has led to some progress, as personal terms have been agreed with the player. He has agreed to sign a four-year deal, with Aston Villa proving to be the only problem in the deal. Their demands have proved a bit difficult to meet, which is making Juve consider some alternatives as they don’t want to be caught off-guard.
As a result, Tottenham’s Guglielmo Vicario and Atletico’s Jan Oblak are also options.
Even if the player is keen on the move to Juve, the Old Lady have been struggling to meet Aston Villa’s demands.
It feels like this could be unlikely to change, as Martinez still has a long-term deal in Birmingham. Juve would have to pay a significant amount to afford him but that will be difficult due to their failure to qualify for the Champions League. This can hinge on Martinez’s own demands too.
If he pushes for a transfer, things can get easier. But for now, that push isn’t quite there.
