Juventus and Atletico Madrid strike David agreement for potential €25m fee | OneFootball

Multiple outlets are reporting that Juventus and Atletico Madrid have come to an agreement regarding the transfer of Canada international, who is set to join the LaLiga club on an initial loan deal with an option to buy.

Juventus and Atletico have David agreement in place

According to reports from Fabrizio Romano and various others on August 31, Juventus have agreed to send David to Atletico on an initial season-long loan deal with an option to buy for a further €25m.

Juventus will reportedly continue to cover part of David’s salary, believed to be around €6m per season in net wages, but Atleti will contribute more than 50%.

Reports elsewhere claim that David already has an agreement with Atletico over a future contract that will run until the summer of 2031 in the event that his loan deal is made permanent.

David joined Juventus on a free transfer after a five-year spell in Ligue 1 with Lille last summer. He went on to provide six goals and four assists from 35 appearances in Serie A last term, but failed to win over the supporters, nor head coach Luciano Spalletti, whose system was not the best fit for the Canada international.

David’s departure is required if Juventus are to bring in any new attackers before the close of the summer transfer window on September 1.

As thing stand, reports on Monday indicate that Newcastle’s Nick Woltemade is becoming an increasingly possible option for the Bianconeri, following reports of interest in Manchester United’s Joshua Zirkzee and Atletico Madrid’s Alexander Sorloth.
