Reports in Italy indicate that Juventus are on the attack in an attempt to bring Nick Woltemade over to Turin from Newcastle after finding an agreement to send Jonathan David to Atletico Madrid.

It could be a case of one in, one out in the Juventus attack in the final days of the summer transfer window: Luciano Spalletti has been hoping to bring in a new forward to compete and rotate with Randal Kolo Muani, but the OId Lady first had to shift last season’s underperformers David and Lois Openda.

Openda joined Lyon on loan earlier this summer and reports on Monday claim that Juventus have agreed to send David to Atletico on a season-long loan deal with a €25m option to buy.

This clears the path for a new addition at centre-forward, and despite recent links to Manchester Untied’s Jonathan Zirkzee and Atletico Madrid’s Alexander Sorloth, the reports on the penultimate day of the summer transfer window indicate that Newcastle’s Woltemade is the current focus.

According to reports from Fabrizio Romano, Woltemade is keen on the Juventus move and personal terms have already been agreed.

Juventus are looking at the prospect of bringing Woltemade in on loan rather than on a permanent transfer, and if that is to be the case, Newcastle are seeking a fee of €5m according to the latest updates from Gianluca Di Marzio.
