Juventus close in on Neto return as Grabara faces seven months out | OneFootball

Juventus are closing in on a return for Neto, with a decision on the free agent goalkeeper expected within the next 24 hours.

According to Tuttosport, via Calciomercato.it, the Bianconeri are not convinced Carlo Pinsoglio offers enough security as Guglielmo Vicario’s deputy following Kamil Grabara’s cruciate ligament injury. The Pole has now undergone surgery and faces six to seven months on the sidelines.

Neto returns to Juventus after 2015-2017 spell

The 37-year-old Brazilian knows the club well, having spent two seasons in Turin as back-up to Gianluigi Buffon before moving to Valencia. He has been without a club since his contract with Botafogo expired.

Neto emerged as the most familiar name among the free agents Juventus could turn to after Grabara’s injury, alongside Alessio Cragno and Alfred Gomis.

Squad list regulations had been expected to narrow the field, but his previous spell at the club and experience as a second-choice goalkeeper at the highest level appear to have tipped the balance.
