Juventus want Zion Suzuki to become their next first-choice goalkeeper, but they have given up on signing him directly from Parma because Paris Saint-Germain are in talks to land the Japan international.

Juve cannot win the race for his signature ahead of the Ligue 1 side, who are willing to invest a huge sum in the goalkeeper this summer. The Bianconeri therefore want to sign Suzuki on loan from PSG instead, once the French club completes his transfer from Parma.

PSG already have two good goalkeepers, meaning Suzuki could become their second or third choice once he arrives. He is likely to be too expensive for that role, however, and PSG could look to send him out on loan so he can gain regular playing time.

Juventus want Suzuki on loan

Because Juventus have been keen to add Suzuki to their squad this summer, the Bianconeri believe they can offer him the game time needed to continue his development. That could encourage PSG to allow the goalkeeper to join Juventus temporarily rather than keeping him at the club without regular opportunities.

Juventus would therefore benefit from Suzuki’s arrival without needing to complete a permanent transfer from Parma. The Bianconeri can also provide the Japan international with the chance to compete at a high level while PSG retain control of his future.

Juve prepare for PSG agreement

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the Old Lady is working behind the scenes to receive confirmation that PSG will allow Suzuki to remain in Serie A on loan in Turin once they secure an agreement to sign him from Parma.

A move to Juventus would allow Suzuki to compete in top competitions and play high-quality matches in Europe. Regular football at that level could be valuable for his development, particularly if PSG decide that a loan spell is the best way for him to gain experience.

For Juventus, the proposed arrangement could provide a solution to their goalkeeping plans. They have already identified Suzuki as the goalkeeper they want, but PSG’s expected investment has made a direct deal difficult. A loan agreement could now give the Bianconeri a realistic route to bring the Japan international to Turin.
