Juventus could pair Jonathan David and Kolo Muani against Parma

Juventus have to be creative ahead of their match against Parma, as Kenan Yildiz is injured and Weston McKennie is also out of the game because of fatigue.

This creates two huge gaps in their attack, and they must do a good job of filling those gaps ahead of the fixture against a Parma side keen to win.

Juve won their opening game, but most people will consider Parma a stronger team than Frosinone, which means they must improve significantly in this game if they are to win.

If all their starters are available, Parma would still give them problems, so it is even harder for the Old Lady now that they will be without two key players.

David set for supporting role

Luciano Spalletti has a big squad to choose from, but the manager will still have to select a player who may not have started. As Tuttojuve reveals, Jonathan David is set to start alongside Randal Kolo Muani.

The report says the Bianconeri manager could play the Canadian behind the French striker in a supporting striker role, with the aim of helping the team find goals in the match.

David has plenty to prove as he looks to establish himself in the team, and his involvement could give Juventus another attacking option against Parma.

Juventus seek attacking solution

It is not a position David particularly enjoys, but he needs minutes to prove that he can shine for the team. The Canadian will be expected to drop deeper and help feed the attackers while also looking for opportunities to contribute in front of goal.

His versatility could prove important for Juventus, particularly with Yildiz unavailable and McKennie also missing the fixture. Spalletti therefore needs his attacking players to adapt to the circumstances and provide enough threat against Parma.

The hosts will be expected to improve on their opening performance, especially with Parma likely to provide a stronger challenge. David’s role could be central to that improvement if he gets the chance to operate behind Kolo Muani.

Juventus have the squad depth to cope with the absences, but they must find the right combination. Spalletti’s decision to use David in a supporting role could be an important part of that solution.
