Juventus desperate for Jonathan David sale as Paris FC make makes | OneFootball

As reported by TUTTOmercatoWEB, Paris FC are looking to bring Juventus forward Jonathan David back to France.

The Canada international is no stranger to Ligue 1, having produced some of the best football of his career during his five-year stay with Lille. His 109 goals’ worth of exploits with the Lillois were what compelled the Old Lady to snap him up on a free.

However, the Bianconeri have decided that they no longer want him after just one season, which saw him produce just eights goals and five assists in 46 appearances. Luciano Spalletti wants a new centre-forward, but before Juve can look for a new signing, they need to move on David.

PFC gave a good account of themselves last season, finishing just ten points off the European spots in their first top-flight campaign in 46 years. Now, backed by the financial might of the LVMH-owning Arnault family, as well as the sporting pedigree of the house of Red Bull, they’re expected to keep pushing up the table and take the fight to their Euorpe-conquering Parisian counterparts.

Valued by Transfermarkt at €30 million, Jonathan David has four more years remaining on his Juventus contract, which fetches him a gross annual wage of €11.1 million. His sale would generate a substantial profit for Juve, allowing them to bring in a new centre-forward for Spalletti.

A necessary divorce

It is clear that Spalletti does not fancy David. Therefore, it makes total sense for Juve and the player to reach an amicable divorce that would serve both parties.

Whatever money Juve get for David would make for a substantial financial gain, given he was a Bosman signing. As for the Canadian, returning to Ligue 1 seems prudent. His suitors are aware of what he can produce in a favourable environment, and the Paris FC project seems to be an exciting one, one that could help David thrive on the pitch again.
