Paris FC start their second Ligue 1 season under Liam Rosenior with a revamped squad and heavy spending, aiming to improve on last term’s 11th. The issue now is whether they can trouble the division’s leading sides.

“The group we have available suits us perfectly. If we bring in more, they must be very special,” said head coach Liam Rosenior. He was speaking to L’Équipe.

Their outlay has reached 79 million euros, second only to Paris Saint-Germain so far. Diego Coppola arrived from Brighton for 17.5 million and Patrick Zabi from Reims for a club-record 25 million. Luca Koleosho cost 14 million from Burnley, while Pablo Pagis and Lassine Sinayoko signed for 15 million and 7.5 million.

Rosenior made his name at Strasbourg from 2024 to 2026, then had a short Chelsea stint that ended after 23 games, 10 of them defeats. He has set out a plan to dominate possession, transitions and aggression, and to keep football enjoyable for the community.

Paris FC scored 47 league goals last season, yet the centre-forward role was an issue. Willem Geubells hit five and Jean-Philippe Krasso two before Ciro Immobile arrived in winter, adding two goals and three assists in 12 matches.

With Geubells gone and Immobile retired, Sinayoko, who hit 12 goals and four assists for Auxerre, and Pagis, 10 and four for Lorient, must raise the strike rate.

Rosenior has dismissed talk of sales, insisting the club decide arrivals and departures. Adama Camara stays, and Ilan Kebbal, last season’s top scorer with nine, should remain. Objectives are deliberately left to match by match.
