Jhon Lucumi is in demand, as more teams have joined the race, but he’s waiting for Juventus, while PSG are going after another of their target, Zion Suzuki. Como have started pursuing the Bologna star as well, alongside Galatasaray and Al-Hilal. Instead, Inter are signing John Stones.
According to Fabrizio Romano (via SOSFanta), the Bianconeri are in touch with the Colombian’s entourage and top his preferences. He didn’t reject the Lariani’s offer and overall project, but he’s fascinated by the Old Lady. A deal seemed close before the end of June, but they couldn’t come to terms with Bologna. Afterward, they elected not to invest in Tarik Muharemovic either and didn’t really insist on Stones. Therefore, the 28-year-old is their only real option at the moment.
It remains to be seen how long it’ll be before Juventus make a strong move for Lucumi, as they are currently busier haggling with PSG for Randal Kolo Muani and with Parma for Mateo Pellegrino and Suzuki, Corriere dello Sport informs.
The request for the goalie is significant, around €30M. Their opening bid fell well short. The Japanese star is inevitably tempted by transferring to the UEFA Champions League winners. However, he’ll have to fight for the starting job there. Instead, the Bianconeri would hand it to him on a silver platter.
Getting rid of Juan Cabal isn’t a big enough excuse to bide time for the former. If they are waiting for Bologna to lower the price tag, they’ll easily end up being disappointed, considering there are other strong bidders. They might get a slight discount from Parma if they go for both the goalie and Pellegrino, but they’ll still have to prepare a fat cheque regardless.
