According to a report from Foot Mercato, Juventus are in talks with OGC Nice for right-back Jonathan Clauss (32).

The former Olympique de Marseille man looked to be on the verge of leaving Nice this summer when he was linked with a move to Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen. However, that transfer broke down.

RMC Sport wrote that the Bundesliga side failed to reach an agreement with Les Aiglons over the France international’s final contract year. Nice reportedly turned down a €12m bid from Bayer Leverkusen. Clauss previously agreed on personal terms with Erik ten Hag’s Werkself, who were in the market for a fullback after parting ways with Jeremie Frimpong.

The report added that after several rounds of inconclusive talks, negotiations halted between Nice and Bayer Leverkusen. The Bundesliga side were reportedly unwilling to meet Nice’s valuation of Clauss. The fullback was not part of Franck Haise’s side that lost to Le Havre AC 3-1 on Sunday.
