Juventus is interested in struggling Tottenham star

Destiny Udogie is not considered an automatic starter at Tottenham under Roberto De Zerbi, and the club could be open to selling him. Juventus is interested in bringing the Italian back to Serie A.

Udogie was expected to achieve more at Spurs after joining from Udinese, but his progress has been affected by inconsistent playing time and fitness problems. That situation could eventually lead Tottenham to consider allowing him to leave.

The possibility will please Juventus, as the Bianconeri are searching for a new left-back. They wanted to strengthen that position towards the end of the previous transfer window, but the plan failed after Juan Cabal did not find a new club.

Juventus monitoring Udogie

The situation could change in January, with Udogie reportedly the player Juventus would most like to sign. Tottenham may be willing to listen to offers if the defender remains outside De Zerbi’s preferred starting line-up.

Tuttomercatoweb claims that Juventus is monitoring Udogie as it assesses options for the left side of the defence. The Italian would fit the club’s desire to add a player who offers quality, physical strength and international experience.

Udogie could also be open to returning to Italy. Juventus is the biggest club in Italian football, and a move to Turin could allow him to rebuild his confidence while taking on a leading role.

Loan move could be preferred

As Udogie has struggled to establish himself in England, Juventus could favour an initial loan move. That approach would allow the Bianconeri to assess his form and fitness before deciding whether to sign him permanently.

A temporary agreement could also make the transfer easier to complete, particularly if Tottenham remains reluctant to lose the defender on a permanent basis. Udogie still has a long-term future to consider, so both clubs may prefer a cautious approach.

Juventus will continue to monitor his situation before deciding whether to make a formal approach. If Tottenham is prepared to negotiate and Udogie wants to return to Serie A, the Bianconeri could have a realistic opportunity to bring him to Turin in January.
