Juventus is very close to completing the return of Neto | OneFootball

Juventus have decided to bring Neto back to the club as a free agent following the loss of Kamil Grabara, whose ACL tear means he will not play for the club again this season.

Grabara is on loan at Juventus from VFL Wolfsburg and only played one game for the Bianconeri before suffering the injury. His absence leaves the club needing to find a new backup goalkeeper as soon as possible, with the squad facing an important period of the campaign.

The men at the Allianz Stadium could wait until January to sign another goalkeeper, but doing so could create a difficult situation if they were to lose their first-choice goalkeeper before then. Juventus therefore want to avoid taking that risk and are looking for an immediate solution.

The club have now identified Neto as their preferred option, with the Brazilian goalkeeper already familiar with Juventus after spending time at the club earlier in his career.

Juventus want Neto back immediately

According to Football Italia, Juventus have been in talks with Neto and want to bring him back immediately. The goalkeeper was part of their squad between 2015 and 2017, meaning he already understands the club and its expectations.

Neto is currently a free agent and has been hoping to find a new club. A return to Turin could therefore give him the opportunity he has been looking for, while Juventus would gain an experienced option between the posts.

The Brazilian goalkeeper would also be returning to a club where he enjoyed considerable success. His previous spell saw him win several trophies, giving him an existing connection with the Bianconeri and their supporters.

Neto emerges as Juventus’ preferred option

Neto is clearly ahead of the other free agents Juventus can sign, with the club now working to complete the move before the international window ends. The timing is important because the team will soon have to return to competitive action.

Juventus want to have their goalkeeping situation settled before they play again, particularly after Grabara’s season-ending injury. Bringing Neto back would provide them with another option and help strengthen their squad.

The Bianconeri will now look to finalise the agreement as quickly as possible, with Neto potentially returning to Turin to begin another chapter with the club.
