Juventus makes plans to sign Sassuolo man in January

Darryl Bakola was one of the players Juventus wanted to sign in the last transfer window, but they eventually decided to allow him to remain at Sassuolo and continue developing.

The Old Lady has been one of the top clubs in Italy, and players at other teams would struggle to turn them down. However, during the summer, Juventus believed that Bakola was not quite ready to make the step up.

That was the reason they did not push to make the move happen, but as injuries continue to take their toll on their midfield, they may now wish they had signed him when they had the chance.

Bakola remains on Juventus’ radar

Bakola remains an important player at Sassuolo, and if he continues to develop as he is now, Tuttomercatoweb claims Juve will add him to their squad.

The report says the Bianconeri are now making plans to include him in their squad for the second half of the season, and the midfielder could be open to the move.

If the Old Lady continues to miss key players in that position, a move for the 18-year-old will almost certainly happen at the club by the next window. Bakola is therefore being closely watched as Juventus assess their midfield options.

Juventus could act quickly

The report adds that Juve also anticipate that more clubs will try to sign Bakola next summer, so they want to act quickly to add him to their squad.

The midfielder’s continued development could therefore play an important role in determining whether Juventus make their interest concrete. With injuries affecting their midfield, the Bianconeri could decide that waiting is no longer the best option.

Bakola remains at Sassuolo for now, but Juventus are monitoring his progress closely. If his development continues and the club’s midfield problems persist, the opportunity to bring him to Turin could become increasingly difficult for them to ignore.

For Juventus, the situation represents a chance to revisit a decision they made during the last transfer window. They chose not to push for Bakola at that stage because they felt he needed more time to develop, but their current midfield situation could now change their thinking.
