Juventus have finally missed out on Dusan Vlahovic and can now close the chapter on the Serbian striker, who has reportedly agreed to move to Besiktas after several months of hesitation. Vlahovic left Juventus in June and has remained unattached since then, with several reports suggesting that he could eventually return to the Allianz Stadium.
Despite signing Randal Kolo Muani, Juventus remained open to bringing Vlahovic back into their squad this summer. The club had reportedly been waiting for the striker to request another meeting as they considered whether a return could still be possible.
Luciano Spalletti is a major admirer of Vlahovic and considers him the best striker he has had at Juventus. That admiration meant the manager remained hopeful that the Serbian would agree to return to the club, but the situation has now taken a different direction.
Vlahovic had been approached by Besiktas for some time, with Vincenzo Italiano keen on a reunion after the pair enjoyed a positive period together at Fiorentina. However, the Serbian was initially reluctant to make the move because he wanted to continue his career in one of the top European leagues.
His preference was to secure an opportunity with a major European club, and he had hoped teams such as Barcelona and Bayern Munich would show interest in signing him. However, neither club made the approach he was waiting for, leaving his future increasingly uncertain.
According to Gianluca di Marzio, Vlahovic has finally agreed to join Besiktas after the Turkish club presented him with a new and improved offer that he could not refuse.
The decision brings an end to the uncertainty surrounding the striker and removes the possibility of him returning to Juventus this summer. While Spalletti would have welcomed the opportunity to work with Vlahovic again, the Serbian has now chosen a different path.
For Juventus, the agreement means they can finally move forward without continuing to consider a potential reunion. Vlahovic’s departure from the club had left the door open to speculation over a return, but his decision to join Besiktas appears to have closed that possibility for good.
