Juventus and Genoa have come to an agreement over a loan move for Italy midfielder Fabio Miretti, who is set to join Alberto Gilardino’s side on a straight, 12-month deal.
The two clubs shook hands over a loan deal for Miretti on Friday afternoon, and the player is expected to undergo a medical before the next round of Serie A fixtures kicks off on Saturday.
It remains to be seen whether the 21-year-old will be signed in time to be included in Gilardino’s squad to face Monza on Saturday night.
Miretti has fallen further down the Juventus pecking order after the appointment of Thiago Motta, who has added both Khephren Thuram and Douglas Luiz to his midfield options this summer.
Juventus still rewarded their academy graduate with a new contract earlier this summer, which will run until the end of June, 2028.
The 21-year-old turned out on 28 occasions in all competitions last term, collecting two goals and two assists.
He also made his debut for the senior Italy national team side under Roberto Mancini in November 2022, appearing as a second-half substitute for Nicolo Barella in a friendly against Austria.
