Juventus wants to sign Real Madrid left back

The arrival of Marc Cucurella means Alvaro Carreras could struggle for game time at Real Madrid, and Tuttojuve says Juventus want to sign the former Benfica man.

One of the first players Madrid signed this summer was Cucurella, and the World Cup winner is expected to start matches ahead of Carreras, who now faces a long spell on the bench.

Ferland Mendy is also still a Madrid player, so Jose Mourinho could prefer him over Carreras. That has opened the door for the left back to leave, with the Bianconeri keen to sign him.

Juventus see opportunity for Carreras

Juventus have many top defenders, but their left back position is lacking some quality. It is a problem they have addressed in the right back position, and they will now look to build on that improvement by strengthening the other side of their defence.

Carreras could provide the Bianconeri with another quality option at left back, particularly if his chances of regular football at Madrid become limited. Juventus are therefore monitoring his situation closely as they consider whether to make a move.

In the next few days, Juve could advance their interest in Carreras as they seek to add him to their squad ahead of several other clubs who are also keen on his signature. The Bianconeri will have competition if they decide to push forward with their interest.

Juve face Madrid decision

Juve believe they can convince Carreras to join the revolution Luciano Spalletti has started at the club. The prospect of more regular playing time could also make the move appealing to the former Benfica man, particularly if his opportunities at Madrid become restricted.

However, Juventus must also convince Madrid to sell him. Carreras remains a good backup option to Cucurella if the World Cup winner is unavailable, meaning Madrid could have little reason to part with him unless the right offer arrives.

For now, Juventus appear ready to explore the possibility of signing Carreras, while the player’s situation at Madrid could determine whether a transfer becomes realistic. The Bianconeri will hope they can persuade both Carreras and Madrid to agree to a move.
