Kai Havertz ‘to be named’ in Germany’s World Cup squad

Sky Germany reports that Kai Havertz has been told he will be included in Germany’s World Cup squad.

The former Bayer Leverkusen attacker spent much of this season sidelined, then returned to the national set-up in March, starting against Switzerland and Ghana.

Since that comeback he has helped Arsenal win the Premier League, sealed by his 1-0 winner against Burnley after Manchester City drew with Bournemouth on Tuesday.

Havertz has 21 goals and 17 assists in 57 appearances for Germany.

Julian Nagelsmann will announce the full Germany squad on Thursday.
