Kaïl Boudache has emerged as one of Lyon’s early bright spots after a turbulent summer, the 20-year-old winger settling quickly under Paulo Fonseca following a free transfer from OGC Nice.
“My dream is to play in major competitions like the Champions League, but also to play in the World Cup with Algeria,” he told Le Progrès.
A regular across pre-season, he has featured in seven of the eight competitive fixtures so far, including two starts.
He is yet to score for Lyon, although his displays suggest it may not be long. “It’ll still be Algeria,” he said.
“I often go back home; my family is from Kabylie. And in the summers, we go back to reconnect with our roots and recharge our batteries there.”
