Corinthians are in advanced talks to sign Al Hilal forward Kaio César on loan, having seen off interest from Atlético-MG, Vasco, Grêmio and Internacional.
"Kaio chose Corinthians for the shirt, for the Libertadores and for Dorival, whom he spoke to in the middle of last year," said his agent, Gilson Tussi, speaking to ESPN.
He is expected in Brazil this weekend for medicals, then to sign a loan until the end of the season.
He turned down a similar offer from Atlético-MG in favour of Corinthians. The deal includes an option to buy set at six million euros, around R$ 37 million, for 50 percent of his rights, with Corinthians paying his wages. He remains under contract at Al Hilal until June 2028.
Corinthians tracked the 21-year-old last year but a Fifa transfer ban halted progress at the time.
Short of minutes at Al Hilal this season, he has played 14 games, six starts, with one goal and three assists.
Dorival Júnior wants more speed in attack and the right winger fits that plan. He previously featured for Coritiba and Vitória de Guimarães in Portugal.
In parallel, Corinthians have signed centre-back Gabriel Paulista and have moved towards a one-year loan for Fortaleza midfielder Matheus Pereira with an option to buy, plus right-back Pedro Milans, 23, after his Peñarol exit. They are also pursuing São Paulo midfielder Alisson and have enquired about Fortaleza goalkeeper João Ricardo.
