Kaizer Chiefs have provided an update on the broadcast of their CAF Confederation Cup clash against AS Simba of Democratic Republic of Congo.
The Soweto giants will lock horns with the Congolese side in the first leg of the second preliminary round at Lubumbashi on Saturday, 18 October.
With the encounter on the horizon, it has been marred by uncertainty over the live broadcast on TV. Chiefs have since set the record straight.
“Saturday's CAF Confederation Cup clash between AS Simba and Kaizer Chiefs in Lubumbashi, Democratic Republic of Congo, will unfortunately not be broadcast live on TV. The hosts were unable to secure broadcast rights with local broadcasters, which affects the availability of the feed,” read the club statement.
"As the visiting team, Chiefs rely on the host's broadcaster's feed to relay the match to our partners in South Africa, as was done in the previous round in Angola. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience, but this matter is beyond our control.
"We will, however, endeavor to keep our supporters updated throughout the match via our official digital platforms - Facebook, X ( Twitter) and Instagram.
The second leg of the tie is scheduled for Sunday, 26 October at Dobsonville Stadium. It remains to be seen whether Amakhosi can book a group stage berth.
