According to Get German Football News, Arnaud Kalimuendo and Rasmus Kristensen are set for immediate MRIs after going off injured in Eintracht Frankfurt's win over Borussia Mönchengladbach.
Kalimuendo lasted 17 minutes after landing awkwardly on his shoulder. Kristensen took a blow to the ankle and did not emerge for the second half.
New head coach Albert Riera said matters “weren’t looking good” regarding Kalimuendo at his post-match press conference. Kicker and Sport Bild report the Nottingham Forest loanee may face an extended lay-off.
Eintracht are close to welcoming leading goal-scorer Jonathan Burkardt back, yet they remain light up front with Can Uzun and Younes Ebnoutalib still sidelined.
Despite several defensive errors this season, Kristensen is viewed as one of the side's most committed performers. His absence will certainly hurt, especially with back-up right back Nnamdi Collins struggling for confidence this year.
Belgian international Arthur Theate also had an MRI this week. Eintracht confirmed on Wednesday that the 25-year-old suffered a meniscus tear and will not be back any time soon. It appears Eintracht will be without Theate for at least a month.
