Harry Kane scored 36 goals in the Bundesliga last season. That was an astonishingly impressive feat by the Englishman. Not only did he secure the top scorer title in Germany, but he also became Europe’s leading scorer.
On Wednesday, he was presented with the Golden Shoe at the Bayern Museum. Kane, who left prominent strikers like Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappé behind in the standings, has once again managed to secure this trophy. And afterward, he was full of praise for everyone at the record-holding champions.
“I’d like to thank FC Bayern, the staff, the coaches, and my teammates—without them, I wouldn’t be standing here. A lot of work goes into winning an award like this. I try to help the team as much as possible,” the striker explained during the award ceremony.
Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen also raved about Kane and praised his development. “True world-class talent is defined by the ability to keep developing. Two years ago, I spoke of a ‘365-degree striker.’ He is a world-class player because he has continued to develop, and that’s what sets him apart.”

Kane also reveals that the team in Munich is aiming high again this season. “Last season was outstanding, and I’m very proud. It was the best season of my career so far. I feel very comfortable at FC Bayern and within the team. We’re always aiming for great things, and we want to do that again this season,” said the striker, who returned to action in the friendly against Heidenheim shortly after his World Cup break.
The striker also raved about the Bundesliga, calling it a league for strikers: “The league is very attack-oriented; even if you’re leading 2-0 or 3-0, the game can still turn around. It’s not just us—you see it everywhere. It’s a league for strikers.”
