Harry Kane and Serge Gnabry trained with Bayern on Monday ahead of the Champions League quarter-final second leg against Real Madrid.

According to BuLi News, both had missed the 5-0 win over St. Pauli at the weekend.

On Saturday, coach Vincent Kompany said Kane had felt the after-effects of his injury comeback and 90 minutes in the first leg, but nothing should prevent him from starting on Wednesday.

Gnabry, who had minor knee problems, carries slightly more doubt, with a final decision due after Tuesday's last session before the match.

With 18-year-old Lennart Karl sidelined, Jamal Musiala would likely be next up to start in central attacking midfield if Gnabry is not available.

The 23-year-old is still rebuilding form after a serious ankle injury sustained at last summer's Club World Cup. He impressed at the weekend with a goal and an assist in 84 minutes, though Bayern are being cautious and it remains unclear if he will be risked for two outings in such quick succession.

Another possibility would be to drop Kane into a deeper role and let Nicolas Jackson lead the line, after he also produced a goal contribution at the weekend.

Raphaël Guerreiro and Tom Bischof are further options for the central attacking midfield slot. For now, the expectation remains that Gnabry will be fit to start.
