Kang-In Lee and Baena set to reunite a decade on | OneFootball

Announced on 25 July, Kang-In Lee’s move to Atlético Madrid from PSG runs until June 2031, and a message from new team-mate Álex Baena quickly hinted at a reunion a decade in the making.

According to Superdeporte, Baena welcomed his friend in a post and said he was keen to play together again.

The post puzzled many supporters, since the pair have never shared a professional side and came through different academies, Lee at Valencia and Baena at Villarreal.

A photo then resurfaced showing both in the same kit during the Comunitat Valenciana under-15 and under-16 selections, Baena bottom left and Lee in the centre. As a curiosity, Hugo Guillamón also features, on the right of the back row.

They can now recreate that image in red and white at Atlético, though not until the week of 10 August because Baena is still on holiday after being crowned world champion.
