Karim Benzema, Paul Pogba, David Alaba headline XI of free agents as window shuts | OneFootball

With the transfer window closed, a clutch of big names remain without a club and could still move. L'Équipe highlights an XI of unattached players led by Karim Benzema and Paul Pogba.

In goal, Neto, 37, formerly of Juventus, Barcelona and Arsenal, has 352 career matches and could be tempted by one last challenge.

Out wide and up front, Riyad Mahrez, 35, was not retained by Al-Ahli. Benzema, 38, parted ways with Al-Hilal by mutual consent on Monday, his next step remains unclear. Jadon Sancho, 26, is also unattached after Manchester United and his loan clubs opted not to keep him.

Also free are Olexandre Zintchenko, Youcef Atal and Francesco Acerbi, plus midfielders Tanguy Ndombele and Ismaël Bennacer. Among forwards, Raheem Sterling, Anthony Martial, Mauro Icardi, Philippe Coutinho, Joselu and Wilfried Zaha are available.
