Household names are still without a club after transfer window slammed shut

An exciting Deadline Day saw Premier League clubs surpass previous end-of-window spending with over £500m outlaid in total.

However, several clubs failed to do much business, with two sides, Manchester United and Bournemouth, not bringing anyone in before Tuesday’s cut-off point.

Arsenal were interested in landing a striker - with Atletico Madrid’s Julian Alvarez admired - but ultimately, the champions decided not to act.

As such, there are still plenty of high-profile stars are actively seeking their next home.

Could Arsenal potentially take a chance on Benzema, who has historically been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium on several occasions?

The French forward is now 38, but having scored over 350 goals in his career, he could be a short-term option for the Gunners.

Paul Pogba

Chelsea oversaw a mass exodus on Deadline Day, and their attempts to sign Lamine Camara fell flat at the 11th hour.

After losing Enzo Fernandez to Manchester City in a British record-equalling £125million deal, former Manchester United star Pogba might be a midfield option after his release from Monaco. The Frenchman is still only 33 and could tick all the Blues’ boxes.

Liverpool are still light at the back and ex-Real Madrid full-back Carvajal could come in and do a job.

Manager Andoni Iraola could well eye his fellow countryman, who has amassed over 350 appearances for club and country.

Oleksandr Zinchenko

Manchester United decided against signing a left-back on Deadline Day, despite their obvious lack of depth in that position.

Zinchenko, the former Arsenal man, is available for nothing and the 29-year-old could be the perfect competition for Luke Shaw, while also offering further cover in midfield.

David Alaba

Tottenham brought in Tosin Adarabioyo from Chelsea to plug the gap in defence left by Kevin Danso’s move to Sunderland.

Spurs also lost defensive midfielder Pape Matar Sarr to Juventus. Spurs have looked leaky so far this season and Alaba is a versatile defender who could come in.

They lost arguably their biggest threat with winger Iliman Ndiaye moving the other way, while Beto moved to Fiorentina.

Perhaps the Hill Dickinson Stadium would be the perfect home for former Manchester United and Chelsea forward Sancho, who can play anywhere across the frontline.
