Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has voiced surprise at Florian Wirtz’s difficult start at Liverpool and played down an immediate Bayern Munich move. "Honestly, yes (I am surprised)."

He was speaking to AZ. Wirtz joined Liverpool for £116 million last summer and delivered seven goals and eight assists in 49 games under Arne Slot.

Under new manager Andoni Iraola this term, the Germany international has one assist in six outings, inviting scrutiny of his form.
