Baroness Karren Brady has announced she is stepping down as West Ham’s vice-chair, with the Hammers 17th in the Premier League and battling with Tottenham to avoid the drop. She made the decision public on Tuesday, according to L'Équipe.
Brady arrived in east London in 2010 alongside David Sullivan, the president who remains in post.
She oversaw the move to London Stadium in 2016. Her tenure is also tied to the 2023 Europa Conference League triumph, the club’s first major trophy in 40 years.
A member of the House of Lords and a figure on The Apprentice, Brady said she now intends to focus on her other activities. West Ham paid tribute in a statement, and she wished West Ham United the best for the future.
She departs with the club in a delicate position. Two points above Tottenham with five matches left, West Ham must protect a slim buffer over the bottom three to avoid relegation to the Championship.
