Kayke climbed into Corinthians’ top three scorers for 2026, joining Breno Bidon and Gabriel Paulista, as the Brazilians opened their Libertadores Group E campaign with a 2-0 victory at Platense.
In Meu Timao’s reporting, the forward was a surprise starter under Fernando Diniz after limited recent use by Dorival Júnior.
He ended a run of six matches and more than two months without a goal, netting his second of the year. His previous strike came in the 3-0 win over Capivariano in the Campeonato Paulista. The result was sealed by Yuri Alberto.
According to Sofascore, Kayke had played 87 minutes across his previous 10 outings, almost the same as the 83 he logged on Thursday.
Yuri Alberto moved clear as the club’s leading scorer for 2026, now on five in 14 matches, two ahead of André Luiz with three in 19. He had not scored since 22 March, when he equalised in a 1-1 draw with Flamengo at Neo Química Arena, then went goalless against Fluminense and Internacional.
Both forwards are available for Sunday’s Dérbi with Palmeiras in the Campeonato Brasileiro at Neo Química Arena. With Memphis Depay and Kaio César injured, it is likely Kayke will see increased minutes.
