Manchester City can confirm that Khiara Keating has joined Liverpool on a permanent transfer.
Initially joining the Club in 2015, the goalkeeper rose through our youth ranks and made her senior debut in a 5-0 League Cup win over Leicester in January 2022.
Keating made eight appearances across the 2021/22 and 2022/23 campaign while also gaining valuable senior experience during loan spells at AFC Fylde and Coventry United.
But her real breakthrough came in 2023/24, when she featured 29 times and claimed 12 clean sheets in all competitions.
An ever-present in the Barclays Women’s Super League as City took the race for the title to the final day, she ended the campaign with nine clean sheets to take home the prestigious WSL Golden Glove award, conceding just 15 times in 22 appearances.
Her performances then earned international recognition, and she was a member of the England squad that retained their status as European champions in the summer of 2025.
She’d make her senior Lionesses debut in October of that year against Brazil, starting between the sticks at the Etihad Stadium.
Keating amassed 65 appearances for Andrée Jeglertz’s side across her City career, with her last in a dramatic 3-2 FA Cup semi-final success over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
During her time at the Club she also helped us claim three major honours – including the Barclays Women’s Super League and FA Cup double in 2025/26.
But now, Keating has decided to pursue a fresh challenge in her career on the expiry of her contract at City.
Everyone at City would like to wish Khiara the very best in the future and thank her for her contributions while at the Club.
