The Bees are looking a little light up top as the hectic festive season ramps up
Keith Andrews has said Brentford will look to add attacking reinforcements in the January transfer market if the opportunity is right.
Brentford were convincingly beaten 2-0 by Tottenham on Saturday afternoon, with the Bees mustering just one shot on target.
Andrews’ side are light in attack after losing Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa in the summer, and they will now be without Kevin Schade for next weekend’s home tie with Leeds after the German winger picked up his fifth yellow card of the season. Fellow wide man Dango Ouattara, meanwhile, will soon jet off to join Burkina Faso at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
To add to Brentford’s frontline issues, Andrews confirmed Arsenal loanee Reiss Nelson would be assessed over the next week after he missed out against Tottenham through injury.
“Reiss picked up an injury last weekend against Burnley, slight knock. So, that was an enforced one where he couldn't take part today. So we'll see how he is in the next week or so,” Andrews said in his post-match press conference.

Asked whether Brentford would enter the market to bolster their attacking options, Andrews said the west Londoners would look to sign someone if the opportunity presented itself.
“I think the club are always looking at options, and it's been well-documented at the last window,” he noted.
“So, yes, I'm sure there's going to be options that we will look at and look to do in January if we feel it's right.”
Tottenham dominated on their own turf on Saturday, with first half goals from Richarlison and Xavi Simons sealing a comfortable victory for Thomas Frank’s men.
Andrews admitted it was a disappointing performance from Brentford, and said his side had to own the fact they did not play well enough.
“I think what we've done overall, I've been very, very happy with as the season's panned out and we've grown as a team,” the Bees’ boss said.
“I think with that, the performance levels have been pretty consistent really, even if results have fallen one way or the other.
“Today we have to own the fact that we didn't play particularly well in the first half, we didn't hit the levels that we have been doing.”
