And while Kelleher and the other keepers have been able to avoid some of the more brutal aspects of preparations, he explained that the group are being “pushed to their limits.”
“It’s been a tough camp but it’s been good. Everyone has come back in really good shape, which has given us a basis to work really hard in this camp,” said the former Liverpool shot-stopper.
“We came here last year and it’s a really nice set-up. It’s just been more of the same of what we’ve been doing from before we came here - getting used to our surroundings again and getting back into it, then pushing and working on the things we need to work on.
“We’re going to get pushed to our limits out here which is what we need in pre-season, so we'll work as hard as we can and give everything.”
“It’s just the running [the goalkeepers avoid], so it’s quite enjoyable to watch them all run around the pitch!”
“Everyone has come back in really good shape, which has given us a basis to work really hard in this camp”
Keith Andrews' squad are in familiar surroundings having returned to Cascais again this summer.
And Kelleher explained the benefits of his time with the squad on the Portuguese Riviera last July ahead of his first campaign in TW8.
“It was really good,” he continued.
“From a training aspect it was good, but also getting to know the lads was the most important thing. Not just in training but around the hotel and doing stuff outside of football was really important for me to get to know the lads and build relationships.
“We have a few new lads as well so I’m sure that’ll help them settle in. They’re really good lads and we would expect nothing less.
“If someone is coming into our group, we know what kind of character they’re going to be. It’s been really nice to get to know them.”
Looking ahead to his second term with the west Londoners, Kelleher added: “Last year was my first season and it takes some time to adjust but I was happy.
“As first season’s go, it was good. In this season, I’m hoping to push on and do even more.
“Everyone wants to play in that first game so we’ll be pushing as hard as we can to be ready for that.”
