Kennet Eichhorn, 16, has decided to leave Hertha Berlin this summer, according to Sport Bild. He wants to play in the Bundesliga next season.
The midfielder aims to train at the highest level with a big club. Eintracht Frankfurt are at the front of the queue, boosted by the prospect of playing time under Albert Riera.
He is currently sidelined, but that is unlikely to affect the fee.
Whether he features again for Hertha before the season ends is unclear. Bild reports his ankle injury is worse than first thought, which could keep him out longer.
Eichhorn’s release clause ranges from €10-12m. Before the injury, he made 14 senior appearances for Hertha and scored once in the DFB Pokal, having debuted at the start of the season. He was regularly among their better performers.
