Sport Bild reports that Hertha Berlin midfielder Kennet Eichhorn has decided he will leave the club in the summer.
The 16-year-old’s name has consistently been linked with several Bundesliga clubs throughout the season, and he has decided that he wants to play in the first division next year.
Eichhorn wants to train at the highest level and with a big club. Eintracht Frankfurt are the team that is currently leading the way for the midfielder due to the prospect of playing time under Albert Riera. Despite the 16-year-old currently being out injured, that is unlikely to affect the fee.
Whether the midfielder plays for Hertha again before the end of the season is unknown. Bild reports that his current ankle injury is worse than first thought, and the midfielder could spend even longer on the sidelines.
The 16-year-old has a release clause that varies from €10-12m.
Before his injury, Eichhorn played 14 times for Hertha’s senior side, scoring once in the DFB Pokal. The midfielder only made his debut for the senior side at the beginning of the season and was regularly one of the better players in the Hauptstadt side.
