Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw and Kerolin have been nominated for January’s PFA WSL Fans’ Player of the Month award.
It follows another strong period for Manchester City where we won each of our two Barclays Women’s Super League fixtures and progressed into the fifth round of the Adobe Women’s FA Cup.
Top-flight successes over Everton and London City Lionesses extended our winning league streak to 12 successive matches at the time and an emphatic 6-0 triumph over Bournemouth secured passage in the historic cup competition.
Although we exited the Subway Women’s League Cup in January, it was yet another fantastic 31 days for Andrée Jeglertz’s team in our pursuit of major trophies this term.
Kerolin and Bunny undoubtedly played their part across the period of matches which has seen them shortlisted for the PFA prize.
Brazilian forward, Kerolin, scored twice in as many WSL appearances in January – raising her overall tally at the time to three in six top-flight outings in 2025/26.
Her first came in a 2-0 win over Everton at the Joie Stadium where she netted the opener thanks to a moment of individual brilliance.
After skipping past Maz Pacheco down the right, she arrived into the box to covert from an acute angle.
Then, against London City Lionesses, she once again found the game’s first goal when she collected a precise Vivianne Miedema pass to race clear of the defence and calmly dispatch in an eventual 2-1 triumph.
Across City’s four January outings, Shaw recorded a staggering five goal contributions.
This began with an assist for Miedema’s strike in our sweet Toffees victory before she scored the opener and registered two assists in the FA Cup tie with Bournemouth.
On the south coast, she rose highest to meet a Leila Ouahabi cross to head into the net and she set Laura Coombs up twice at Snows Stadium in the ruthless display by Jeglertz’s team.
But perhaps her final goal in January was her most dramatic when she slammed home from close range in the 86th minute to seal a 2-1 win over London City Lionesses in the capital.
Bunny and Kerolin are joined on the shortlist by Arsenal’s Mariona Caldentey, Liverpool’s Grace Fisk and Manchester United’s Hinata Miyazawa and Phallon Tullis-Joyce.
