Keven Schlotterbeck is on the verge of signing for VfL Bochum from SC Freiburg, according to Kicker.
The 25-year-old has hardly featured for Freiburg this season under head coach Christian Streich and wishes to leave the club in order for more game time. So far this season, Schlotterbeck has only played a total of 12 minutes for Freiburg.
As per the report, Bochum are on the verge of signing the defender. VfL are in need of defensive reinforcements as they look to escape relegation. Before the early winter break, Bochum’s central defenders were changing game by game with only Ukrainian Ivan Ordets keeping his spot.
It’s reported that the transfer will be confirmed in the coming days with VfL due to return to training this week before heading on a training camp in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain. Schlotterbeck will most likely join up with his new teammates in Spain as they look ahead to their first Bundesliga game of 2023 against Hertha Berlin.
